Vintage Tin Watercolour Travel Palettes

Recently I decided to invest in some wonderful Daniel Smith watercolours, and I just adore them - especially some of their special granulating colours such as Cascade Green and Moonglow!
Daniel Smith watercolours come in tubes, so I started looking for a suitable palette with empty half pans but struggled to find anything I really liked... As I love all things vintage I decided to convert an old cigarette tin instead of buying a mass-produced new palette, which you can see below.

I stuck magnets to the bottoms of each pan, and wrote the Daniel Smith colour numbers on the sides with a sharpie. I love working with limited palettes, and this allows me to select a handful of colours, which I can easily transfer to a smaller travel tin!

I felt really inspired and decided to convert some more beautiful vintage tins into watercolour palettes, which you can now find in my Etsy Shop. At the moment there are two large palettes available (similar to my full palette in the pictures above) and five small travel palettes. They come with 6 to 8 empty magnetic half pans, but additional half pans are available to purchase so you can customise your palette!
